Theresa Martin, LMT
Theresa brings over 25 years of knowledge and experience - including eighteen years of continuous study in massage therapy, to her wellness philosophy and practice.
Graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA in interior design from Chaminade University of Honolulu, Theresa loved creating harmonious, balanced environments, supportive of the end users. Being also drawn to the fields of alternative and complimentary health, Theresa found the elements of balance, harmony, space and magical transformations to be active principles in bodywork too.
For Theresa, the internal and external environments are intricately related - even interrelated. And these elements play out in the beautiful healing space she has created for her clients.
As wife, mother, business owner, entrepreneur, health nut, writer, and avid yogi, Theresa's full, rich life and passion for living spills over into every aspect of her life, including her practice. Clients automatically sense her presence and expertise, and leave their yoga and massage sessions with a greater appreciation of their own healing powers.
Theresa places a high priority on dignity of life issues, healthy aging, and independent living. She volunteers regularly for Duet; a non profit organization dedicated to helping older adults and their families cope with challenges related to aging. Of her service there, she says, "I love helping our seniors - it seems like the least I can do to honor their years, their wisdom and their place in our society. It helps me remain humble and keep life in perspective."
When not engaged in her business, Theresa loves to hike, laugh, be with the people who matter most to her and explore Arizona's hidden treasures. She recently completed her first triathlon and is currently searching out her next great adventure.
Her current motto is "Don't limit your challenges, challenge your limits."
I began my massage career at the Honolulu School Of Massage in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1993. Since then I have gained extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of massage.
I became a certified yoga instructor in 2012, after spending nearly twenty-five years passionately pursuing my own practice and deepening my understanding of this ancient healing art and science.
My continuing education and training includes modalities such as:
Bodywork is appropriate from birth to death, and every stage in between. While the effects of a single massage or yoga class are subtle, cumulatively they can profoundly impact life. Both modalities work holistically to soothe the body, ease the mind, speed healing and get all your systems working harmoniously together for total well being.
Every aspect of our lives; from our physical, psychological and nutritional health; to whether we even know how to "let go" and relax, affects and is affected by our environment. These therapies, individually or combined, have the ability to profoundly changes one's environment and, over time, one's life!
I view the body as an integrated whole; my treatments are physically healing and emotionally balancing. The intricate mechanics of the human body continue to challenge and amaze me. Every session lends itself to a new appreciation of the healing potential within each of us.
